Rep. John Kline, R-MN, chairman of the House Education & The Workforce Committee, who will lead the House effort to rewrite NCLB, formally known as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, has said he wants to do the reauthorization in pieces rather than in one huge bill.

First Lady Michelle Obama helped  promoted the special day by reading “The Cat in the Hat” to a group of school children.  She also spoke about the importance of reading and how “Horton Hatches the Egg,” by Dr. Seuss is one of the first family’s favorite children’s books.
